After an early childhood in Bucharest, Romania, Anca moved with her family to

France.  She grew up in Paris, where

in her formative years she developed a profound connection with and a life-long passion for the arts; after college she settled in Los Angeles; she now lives in Ojai, California.

Anca Colbert has a classical European education in the arts, music, literature,

and linguistics.  She studied at L’Ecole du Louvre and at L’Ecole des Arts Décoratifs, in Paris. She holds a License ès lettres from the Sorbonne, in Paris.

Anca was the founder and director of two modern art galleries in Hollywood. She specialized in original works on paper and paintings, ranging from turn-of-the century European artists and printmakers (Bonnard, Steinlen, Toulouse-Lautrec, Chéret, Klimt et.al.) to modern and contemporary American and European painters, photographers and printmakers (Roberto Matta, Karel Appel, Pierre Alechinsky, Jan Sawka, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Kazuaki Tanahashi, Andrés Waissman, Paul Landacre, Olga Antonova, Gregory McIntosh, Beatrice Wood, et.al.)

In her complex career in the arts, Anca designed and directed the production of catalogues, books and posters; she also promoted publications for international organizations and nonprofits focused on culture and education.

As an agent, she has represented and published numerous contemporary artists: Mario Uribe, Earl Newman et.al.

As an independent consultant, Anca has successfully assisted cultural, educational organizations in planning and managing events in varied spaces and locations. 

She has curated and publicized numerous fine art exhibitions.

Ms. Colbert is experienced in documenting and appraising modern art. She provides informed guidance and practical solutions

to collectors, artists, various organizations and professionals in need of researching, evaluating, preserving, managing and marketing their works of art.
